Case Studies
The CEO of a human services organization gave one year's notice of her planned retirement. StopGap Solutions worked with the board to update the job description, recruit a pool of candidates both in and out of state to apply for the position, create a screening process, complete preliminary screening, facilitate initial interviews, schedule travel and final interviews for two candidates, and supported the board in making an offer to the selected candidate. We also provided a press release, exit plan for the retiring CEO, 30/60/90 day plan for the new CEO, and remained available to provide support during the transition process.
Recruit. Create. Complete.
The Executive Director of a local family foundation had to step down from the position to manage virtual school during the COVID-19 pandemic. StopGap Solutions facilitated the creation of a strategic plan and a succession plan for the board. We adapted the grants process to create stronger relationships between organizations and the board while simplifying the application process and expediting access to funding. We also facilitated an annual service partnership with a local food program. After 3 years, we managed the transition of activities and materials back to the original Executive Director.
Strategize. Succeed.
The United Way Association of SC was selected to manage the statewide 2020 census collaborative. As the project manager, StopGap Solutions facilitated stakeholder conversations to establish priorities, brought together trusted messengers to develop an outreach plan, facilitated statewide technical assistance sessions, and guided plan adaptations throughout the emergence of the global pandemic. The success of the project led to an additional $400,000 in investment, the pilot of a mini-grants program that invested more than $400,000 into 200+ grassroots organizations, and national investment in continuing the project to work on further civic engagement.
